Process Engineer

Core Responsibilities
As a Process Engineer, your core responsibilities includes designing, optimizing, and maintaining industrial processes to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and ensure quality and safety. The responsibilities should span across industries such as manufacturing and food processing.

1. Process Design & Development

Designs, develops, and optimizes manufacturing processes.
Creates process flow diagrams (PFDs) and piping & instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs).
Ensures process efficiency, scalability, and sustainability.

2. Process Optimization & Efficiency Improvement

Analyzes existing processes to identify inefficiencies.
Implements Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Continuous Improvement strategies.
Reduces waste, energy consumption, and production costs.

3. Equipment Selection & Maintenance

Works with mechanical and electrical engineers to select appropriate equipment.
Ensures proper installation, calibration, and maintenance of machinery.
Develops maintenance plans to prevent downtime.

4. Quality & Compliance

Ensures that processes comply with industry standards (ISO, GMP, FDA, etc.).
Conducts quality control checks and process audits.
Develops standard operating procedures (SOPs) for production teams.

5. Data Collection & Analysis

Uses statistical tools to monitor process performance.
Collects and analyzes production data to make informed decisions.
Implements automation and digital monitoring systems (SCADA, IoT, etc.).

6. Troubleshooting & Problem-Solving

Identifies and resolves production bottlenecks and technical issues.
Implements root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective actions.
Works closely with maintenance teams to prevent breakdowns.

7. Safety & Environmental Compliance

Ensures all processes follow workplace safety regulations (OSHA, HSE).
Implements environmental sustainability practices (waste reduction, emissions control).
Conducts risk assessments and safety training.

8. Collaboration & Teamwork

Works with cross-functional teams, including production, maintenance, and R&D.
Provides technical support to plant operators and engineers.
Assists in new product development and scaling up production.
