Medical Laboratory Scientist

1. Performing regular and complex clinical lab tests in areas of microbiology, chemistry, hematology, cytology and histology; collecting and analyzing patient samples to produce accurate results; examining and analyzing blood, body fluids, tissues, and cells; preparing and submitting requisite lab reports.
2.Developing and implementing standard of practice to ensure adherence to quality control; establishing quality assurance programs to monitor and ensure the accuracy of test results; relaying test results to physicians; evaluating test results for accuracy.
3. Operating and maintaining clinical instruments in good condition; using complex computer systems for data entry, retrieval and analysis; properly utilizing high-precision lab equipment to ensure proper and accurate results within expected turnaround time.
4. Overseeing the work of other lab staff including other lab technician and lab assistant; ordering and accounting for lab inventory and supplies; ensuring that the lab has all necessary supplies/consumables needed for any investigations.
5. Monitoring patient outcomes.
