About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented Document Control Officer for a Tier 1 Oil & Gas servicing Company in Nigeria to manage and oversee the flow of documents within the organization. The role is responsible for ensuring that all project and business documents are properly recorded, distributed, maintained, and archived in line with company policies, compliance standards, and industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities

Manage the receipt, recording, distribution, and tracking of controlled documents.
Ensure all documents (drawings, contracts, procedures, manuals, etc.) are properly coded, versioned, and filed.
Maintain electronic and physical document control systems for easy retrieval.
Ensure document revisions are updated and obsolete documents are removed from circulation.
Support project teams and departments with document control needs.
Generate reports on document status, reviews, and approvals.
Ensure compliance with quality standards, regulatory requirements, and audit processes.
Assist in the digitization and archiving of corporate documents.
Train staff on document management procedures and systems.

Requirements

HND/Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Management, or related field.
3-5 years’ experience in document control, records management, or administrative support.
Knowledge of document control processes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
Proficiency with document management systems (e.g., SharePoint, Aconex, M-Files, or similar).
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
Good communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams.
Certifications in Document Control, Information Management, or ISO Quality Standards are an advantage.
