Job Title: Heavy Vehicle Mechanic - Diesel Engine Specialist

Location: Ikorodu, Ogijo

Salary: 200k

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and inspecting heavy vehicles, including trucks, buses, and construction machinery. Key responsibilities include diagnosing mechanical issues, replacing parts, performing preventative maintenance, and ensuring vehicles meet safety and regulatory standards.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in heavy vehicles.
  • Perform repairs on engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension systems, fuel systems, and other vehicle components.
  • Conduct regular maintenance tasks, including oil changes, tire rotations, brake checks, and fluid top-ups.
  • Develop and follow schedules for preventive maintenance to ensure vehicle reliability and safety.
  • Inspect and test vehicles to detect problems before they cause major failures.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of an apprenticeship or vocational training in heavy vehicle mechanics.
  • Certification from a recognized authority (e.g., ASE or equivalent) is a plus.
  • Experience:
  • Minimum years of experience working as a heavy vehicle mechanic.
  • Experience with a wide range of heavy vehicles, including trucks, buses, and construction equipment.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing diesel engines, electrical systems, hydraulic systems, and other mechanical components.
  • Experience with computerized diagnostic tools and equipment.
  • Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift heavy parts and work in physically demanding conditions.
  • Comfort with working in confined spaces, under vehicles, and with machinery.
