Retail Sales Associate

Chard Pharmacy and Stores is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Cashier to join our team. As a Cashier, you will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, processing transactions accurately, and maintaining a clean and organized checkout area.

• Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner.
• Process customer purchases, returns, and exchanges accurately using the POS system.
• Accept payments by cash, credit, debit, or electronic methods, ensuring all transactions are correctly recorded.
• Issue receipts, refunds, or change due to customers.
• Maintain a clean and organized checkout area.
• Answer customer inquiries and provide assistance as needed.
• Bag, box, or package purchases as required.
• Balance the cash register at the beginning and end of each shift, reconciling any discrepancies.
• Follow all company policies and procedures regarding cash handling, security, and loss prevention.
• Assist with stocking shelves, cleaning, or other store tasks when checkout traffic is low.
• Report any issues, errors, or suspicious activity to the supervisor.

• Proven experience as a cashier or in customer service.
• Basic math skills and ability to handle cash accurately.
• Familiarity with POS systems and basic computer knowledge.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to handle transactions in a fast-paced environment.
• High level of honesty, reliability, and professionalism.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, or holidays.

• Previous experience in retail, hospitality, or a similar environment.
• Knowledge of basic bookkeeping or cash handling practices.
