Job Overview:

TAI is seeking a highly skilled Culinary Arts Instructor to join our team. As a member of our faculty, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality culinary arts education to students, developing and implementing curriculum initiatives, and participating in non-teaching duties such as food production and event planning.

Key Responsibilities:

Instructional Duties:

  • Develop and deliver engaging culinary arts lessons, incorporating hands-on training and real-world applications.
  • Teach students about various cooking techniques, emphasizing the importance of food safety and presentation.
  • Assess student performance through evaluations, projects, and practical exams, providing constructive feedback.

Curriculum Development:

  • Collaborate with colleagues to design and implement new curriculum initiatives, ensuring alignment with program goals.
  • Research and incorporate current industry trends and innovations into the curriculum.

Student Engagement:

  • Provide personalized support and mentorship to students, fostering their growth and development.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with students, colleagues, and stakeholders.

Classroom and Kitchen Management:

  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized teaching kitchen environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.
  • Manage kitchen inventory, including ordering and maintaining tools, equipment, and ingredients.

Professional Development and Networking:

  • Stay up-to-date on culinary trends, technologies, and best practices through ongoing professional development.
  • Build relationships with local culinary professionals, organizations, and businesses to create opportunities for students.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Master's degree in Culinary Arts, Hospitality, or a related field.
  • Experience: At least 5 years of professional culinary experience, preferably in an educational setting.
  • Skills: Expertise in culinary techniques, strong communication and presentation skills, ability to inspire and motivate students.
  • Certifications: Relevant culinary arts-related certifications.
