Job Description:At DAYTONA, we are seeking a highly skilled Purchasing Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the timely and efficient procurement of goods and services.
About the Role:
The Purchasing Specialist will be responsible for purchasing goods and materials that meet specified requirements and match given specifications. This will involve advising on methods to improve receiving, storing, inventory and distributing materials and supplies, maintaining stock control records, verifying quantities of goods delivered, inspecting for damage, and signing delivery tags.
Main Responsibilities:
- To ensure goods purchased are in accordance with specified requirements and match given specifications.
- To advise on methods to improve receiving, storing, inventory and distributing materials and supplies; and maintain stock control records.
- To verify quantities of goods delivered, inspect for damage; and sign delivery tags.
- To perform warehousing and inventory control tasks.
- To prepare and maintain records concerning the receipt and issuance of materials.
- To manage assets effectively.
- To confer with user departments and provide cost information for budgeting purposes.
- To negotiate for favorable terms for purchase, e.g. discounts and credit, and follow up with the Finance Department to ensure that payments are made to the suppliers promptly.
- To ensure goods purchased are delivered to the appropriate location and/or person(s) in a timely manner, providing continuous feedback to the Procurement and Logistics Manager.
- To receive delivery of materials into the store.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a strong attention to detail, and the ability to work well under pressure. They will also have a solid understanding of purchasing procedures and protocols, as well as experience working with suppliers and vendors.
