MERITABODE NIGERIA LIMITED invites applications for the position of Corporate Compliance Director. The successful candidate will play a critical role in providing strategic counsel, overseeing governance policies, and ensuring adherence to relevant laws and regulations.

Main Accountabilities:

  • Deliver timely and informed counsel to executives on a variety of legal topics, encompassing labor law, partnerships, international ventures, and corporate finance.

  • Partner with management to craft efficient defense strategies and articulate internal governance frameworks.

  • Evaluate and mitigate risks associated with business decisions and operations, leveraging effective risk management techniques and offering proactive recommendations to address potential legal challenges.

  • Engage in negotiations with external parties, forging strong relationships and drafting agreements, contracts, and other legal documents to protect the company's interests.

  • Manage intricate matters involving multiple stakeholders and interest groups, providing clear explanations of legal terminology and specifications to all organizational personnel while maintaining the highest standards of integrity and accountability.

  • Remain current with legislative developments and fulfill other duties assigned by the organization.

Essential Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will hold 4-8 years of experience as a Legal/Compliance Officer, preferably with a background in litigation. Strong communication and negotiation skills, combined with excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, are vital for success in this role.
