Job Title: Residential Care Specialist - Youth Reintegration

Salary Range: $55,000 - $65,000 per annum (dependent on location and experience)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate individual to fill the role of Residential Care Specialist - Youth Reintegration. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our residential home, ensuring the well-being and safety of our residents at all times.

Key Responsibilities

  • Residential Care Management
    • Supervise daily activities, including meals, study time, recreational activities, and rest periods
    • Provide emotional support and act as a role model, mentor, and guide for residents
    • Foster a safe and welcoming environment, ensuring the home is clean and free from hazards
    • Promote personal development and self-discipline among residents, encouraging positive behavior and life skills development
  • Administrative Duties
    • Maintain accurate records of residents' progress, incidents, and interventions
    • Manage household expenses, including food, supplies, and maintenance costs
    • Ensure compliance with organizational policies and local regulations
  • Team Collaboration
    • Liaise with social workers, counselors, and other staff to develop and implement care plans for each resident
    • Coordinate vocational training, workshops, or educational activities with external partners
    • Crisis management: act as the first point of contact during emergencies, de-escalating situations when needed
  • Community Engagement
    • Foster positive relationships with residents' families (where applicable) and the local community
    • Promote reintegration and assist in transitioning youngsters into independent living arrangements

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Relevant degree in social work, counseling, or a related field
  • Experience working with vulnerable populations, particularly children and adolescents
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
  • Valid driver's license (if required by the location)
