**About the Role**

 

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Operations Strategist to join our team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for leading and managing our operations functions to achieve optimal results.

 

**Key Responsibilities**

 

As a Chief Operations Strategist, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and Managing People Resources: You will lead and manage our people resources to promote technical competence and foster career progression and retention of a fit-for-purpose agile operations workforce.
  • Championing Strategic Resources: You will champion strategic resources to achieve organizational goals and ensure Value for Money (VfM).
  • Enhancing Risk Management: You will enhance risk management to increase organizational performance and strengthen internal control.
  • Ensuring Operational Centralization and Optimization: You will ensure further operational centralization and optimization for maximized efficiency gains.
  • Strengthening Partnerships: You will strengthen internal and external-facing partnerships and leverage UNICEF's oversight and understanding of financial management across all areas of the office.

 

**Requirements and Qualifications**

 

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following qualifications and experience:

  • A minimum of 10 years of professional experience in operations management, preferably in a humanitarian setting.
  • Experience in budget; financial management and reporting; facilities management; administration; supply and logistics management; information and communication technology; human resources.
  • Prior experience working with or in the private sector, and supporting private sector fundraising, is desirable.
  • Additional experience in one or more of the following areas would be desired: Audit and investigations, Safety and security, Grant Management, Results Based Management.
