Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Junior Finance Officer to join our team at Lumos Nigeria. The successful candidate will support the finance team in managing accounting records, financial transactions, and reporting activities.

About the Position:

  • This role is ideal for fresh graduates with a degree in Accounting or Finance who have completed their National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) and are currently undergoing or have completed their ICAN certification.
  • The Junior Finance Officer will be responsible for assisting in the preparation of financial statements, reports, and budgets, recording and maintaining financial transactions in accordance with accounting principles, and supporting accounts payable and receivable functions.
  • The successful candidate will also participate in financial audits, provide necessary documentation, and support cost analysis and financial forecasting to enhance decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

The Junior Finance Officer will be responsible for:

  1. Assisting in the preparation of financial statements, reports, and budgets.
  2. Recording and maintaining financial transactions in accordance with accounting principles.
  3. Supporting accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring timely invoicing and payments.
  4. Reconciling bank statements and financial discrepancies.
  5. Assisting in tax computations, filings, and regulatory compliance.
  6. Participating in financial audits and providing necessary documentation.
  7. Supporting cost analysis and financial forecasting to enhance decision-making.
  8. Maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring adherence to internal controls.
  9. Collaborating with other departments to ensure financial alignment with business goals.

Requirements

The successful candidate must possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Completion of the 1-year compulsory National Youth Service Corps, NYSC with 0-1 year working experience.
  • ICAN certification in progress or completed.
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and tax regulations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar).
