About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Financial Management Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for managing financial records, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and providing accurate financial information to support strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Record Keeping:
    • Maintain accurate records of financial transactions by ensuring proper classification and documentation.
    • Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
  • Preparation of Financial Statements:
    • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
    • Ensure all financial statements comply with accounting standards (e.g., IFRS, GAAP).
  • Budgeting and Forecasting:
    • Assist in preparing budgets and financial forecasts to guide the organization's financial planning.
    • Monitor expenditures and compare them with budgets to identify variances and recommend adjustments.
  • Tax Compliance:
    • Prepare and submit tax returns, ensuring adherence to local tax laws and regulations.
    • Stay updated on tax legislation to optimize the organization's tax position.
    • Liaise with tax authorities for audits and inquiries when necessary.
  • Accounts Payable and Receivable:
    • Oversee and manage accounts payable and receivable functions.
    • Ensure timely billing, collection of revenue, and payment of suppliers.
    • Conduct credit analysis and assess risks associated with clients and vendors.
  • Internal Controls:
    • Implement and maintain internal controls to prevent inaccuracies in financial reporting.
    • Review and recommend changes to financial procedures to enhance efficiency and security.
  • Financial Analysis:
    • Analyze financial data to identify trends and provide insights into financial performance.
    • Support management in strategic decision-making with financial forecasts and reports.
  • Auditing:
    • Coordinate with external and internal auditors to facilitate periodic financial audits.
    • Address and implement any recommendations made by auditors.
  • Regulatory Compliance:
    • Ensure compliance with financial laws and company policies.
    • Prepare reports required by regulatory agencies and government bodies.
  • Team Collaboration:
    • Work closely with other departments to provide financial insights.
    • Assist in training and mentoring junior accounting staff, if applicable.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A master's degree is an added advantage.
  • Certification: Chartered Accountant (e.g., ICAN, ACCA, CPA) certification is often required.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in accounting or a related field.
Skills
  • Proficiency: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, SAP).
  • Data Analysis: Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other data analysis tools.
  • Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
