Job Description:

Mecer Consulting Limited is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Loan Recovery Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for monitoring and recovering loans to ensure the financial health of our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Track loan disbursements and ensure funds are used for their intended purpose.
  • Regularly review loan performance and identify early warning signals of potential defaults.
  • Conduct periodic site visits and client meetings to assess financial health and repayment ability.
  • Implement loan recovery strategies, including negotiations, restructuring, and legal actions where necessary.
  • Maintain proper documentation of all recovery efforts and client communications.
  • Ensure compliance with lending policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify high-risk accounts and develop action plans for recovery.
  • Work with legal teams to handle litigation and debt recovery processes.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 2-5 years of experience in loan monitoring, credit risk management, or debt recovery, preferably in a financial institution, microfinance bank, or commercial bank.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, Banking, or a related field.
  • Professional certification (e.g., CIBN, ICAN, ACCA) is an added advantage.
  • Strong ability to negotiate loan repayment terms with clients.
  • Familiarity with lending laws, CBN regulations, and debt recovery procedures.
  • Ability to engage with clients professionally and maintain good relationships.
  • Ensure accurate record-keeping and compliance with documentation standards.
  • Experience with loan management software is an advantage.
