The Fashion Instructor position at TAI is an exciting opportunity for a qualified professional to join our team. As a key member of our faculty, you will be responsible for delivering engaging lessons in fashion design, tailoring, and pattern drafting.

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced educator with a passion for teaching and mentoring students in the field of fashion. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in fashion design, tailoring, or a related field, as well as experience in teaching or training.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Designing and delivering comprehensive lesson plans that cover fashion design, tailoring, and pattern drafting
  • Teaching business aspects of fashion, including entrepreneurship, marketing, and branding
  • Providing practical, hands-on training in various techniques and tools of the trade
  • Mentoring students and providing guidance and support for their creative and professional growth

In addition to teaching responsibilities, the Fashion Instructor will also participate in non-teaching roles, contributing to fashion production by designing and sewing clothes as needed. This may include participating in institutional projects and events requiring fashion design expertise.

Requirements

To be considered for this position, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • A relevant tertiary degree in Fashion Design, Textile Design, or a related field
  • Additional certifications in tailoring, fashion design, or pattern drafting are required
  • Proven experience in tailoring (male or female), fashion design, and pattern drafting
  • Experience in teaching or training in a fashion-related field is highly desirable

The Fashion Instructor will work collaboratively with colleagues to support organizational goals and initiatives. This may include participating in staff meetings, training sessions, and other institutional activities.

We offer a competitive salary, estimated to be around $60,000 per annum, based on qualifications and experience. Located in Ido, after Ologuneru, Ibadan, we provide a stimulating work environment with opportunities for professional growth and development.
