JOB DESCRIPTION: GENERAL MANAGER (ON-SITE) –JOS, PLATEAU STATE

Job Title: General Manager

*Location* : Jos, Plateau State (On-site)

*Employment Type:* Full-Time

*Reports To: Managing Director/CEO*

*Job Overview*

The General Manager will oversee the daily operations of the organization, ensure smooth workflow across all departments, and drive performance to meet business goals. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, business-minded, and capable of leading a team while managing multiple tasks efficiently. This role requires someone who can maintain operational excellence, improve processes, and ensure high-quality service delivery on-site.

*Key Responsibilities*

  1. *Operations & Administration*

Oversee day-to-day operations to ensure efficiency and productivity.

Implement and maintain effective operational systems, policies, and procedures.

Monitor office facilities, inventory, and supplies to ensure smooth operations.

Ensure compliance with company standards and statutory regulations.

  1. *Team Leadership & People Management*

Supervise, train, and motivate staff to achieve performance objectives.

Conduct performance reviews and support staff development.

Resolve staff issues professionally and maintain a positive work environment.

Delegate tasks effectively and follow up to ensure timely completion.

  1. *Business Management & Strategy*

Support the execution of business strategies and growth initiatives.

Analyze business performance and generate weekly and monthly reports.

Identify operational gaps and recommend improvements.

Manage budgets, expenses, and resource allocation.

  1. *Customer & Stakeholder Management*

Maintain strong relationships with guests / clients, partners, and vendors.

Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and escalations promptly.

Ensure excellent service delivery and customer satisfaction.

  1. *Project & Task Management*

Coordinate ongoing projects and track progress against deadlines.

Monitor workflows, ensure task accuracy, and uphold operational standards.

Ensure effective documentation and reporting for all activities.

  1. *Compliance, Safety & Risk Management*

Ensure all staff adhere to company policies and procedures.

Maintain a safe, secure, and well-organized work environment.

Monitor risks, resolve operational issues, and escalate when necessary.

  1. Miscellaneous Duties

Other responsibilities that may be assigned by MD / CEO.

*Key Requirements*

*Education & Experience*

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, Hospitality Management or related disciplines / fields.

Minimum of 3–5 years' experience in a managerial, supervisory, or operations role.

Experience working in a structured organization is an added advantage.

Strong leadership and people management skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office or Google Workspace.

Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work under pressure.
