Role Description

Project Planning and Strategy Development

  • Develop strategic plans for construction projects, outlining objectives, timelines, budgets, and resource requirements.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to define project scopes, goals, and deliverables.

Team Leadership and Management

  • Lead and manage on-site construction teams, including project managers, engineers, supervisors, and subcontractors.
  • Provide guidance, direction, and support to ensure effective team performance and project success.
  • Conduct regular team meetings to communicate project progress, priorities, and expectations.

Resource Management

  • Oversee the allocation of resources including materials, equipment, and labor to ensure optimal project efficiency.
  • Monitor and control project budgets, expenses, and costs to ensure projects are completed within financial constraints.

Quality Control and Assurance

  • Implement and maintain quality control processes to ensure construction projects meet client specifications and industry standards.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits to assess work quality and compliance with safety regulations.

Risk Management and Compliance

  • Identify potential risks and issues that may impact project delivery and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, codes, and safety standards to maintain a safe working environment.

Client Communication and Relationship Management

  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, providing regular updates on project progress, milestones, and any issues or changes.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, addressing concerns and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Scheduling and Logistics

  • Develop and maintain project schedules, coordinating activities and sequencing tasks to optimize workflow and meet project deadlines.
  • Manage logistics and site operations to ensure smooth project execution and efficient use of resources.

Continuous Improvement and Innovation

  • Identify opportunities for process improvement, innovation, and efficiency gains in construction operations.
  • Implement best practices and lessons learned to drive continuous improvement in project delivery.

Health and Safety Management

  • Uphold health and safety standards on construction sites, promoting a culture of safety and ensuring compliance with all regulations and protocols.
  • Conduct safety inspections, audits, and training sessions to mitigate risks and prevent accidents.

Budgeting and Financial Reporting

  • Develop project budgets, track expenses, and monitor financial performance to ensure projects are executed within budgetary constraints.
  • Prepare financial reports, forecasts, and analyses for senior management review.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum B.Eng in civil engineering
  • 15-20 years of work experience in the construction industry and civil engineering
  • Must have professional engineering licenses
