Job Summary:

The Agricultural Science Teacher will be responsible for teaching students the principles and practices of agriculture, including crop production, animal husbandry, soil science, and agricultural technology. The teacher will design engaging lessons that promote hands-on learning, environmental awareness, and sustainable farming practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver comprehensive lessons in agricultural science following the school curriculum.
  • Instruct students in crop cultivation, livestock management, soil fertility, and agribusiness.
  • Plan and supervise practical sessions, fieldwork, and agricultural projects.
  • Evaluate students' performance through assignments, tests, and practical assessments.
  • Maintain accurate records of students' progress and grades.
  • Manage and maintain school farm, garden, and agricultural equipment.
  • Promote environmental sustainability and modern agricultural techniques.
  • Participate in curriculum development, staff meetings, and professional training.
  • Mentor students interested in agricultural careers or entrepreneurship.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Agricultural Science, Agricultural Education, or a related field.
  • Teaching qualification (e.g., NCE, PGDE, B.Ed) is an added advantage.
  • Proven experience teaching agricultural science or related subjects.
  • Strong practical knowledge of crop and animal production.
  • Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
  • Ability to motivate and inspire students.
