Experienced Accountant

Excellium is seeking an Experienced Accountant. This role will be instrumental in overseeing the financial operations of the company, ensuring financial accuracy, and providing strategic financial insights Manage andmeticulously maintain all financial records, including complex accountspayable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and fixed asset registers.Ensureaccurate and timely processing of all financial transactions, verifyingsupporting documentation and necessary approvals.Overseepetty cash management, ensuring controls, timely reconciliations, and adherenceto company policies.Perform reconciliationsof bank statements, sub -ledgers to general ledger, and other critical accounts,investigating and resolving discrepancies promptly.Preparationof accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements(e.g. Statement of Financial Position, Statement of Profit or Loss and OtherComprehensive Income, Statement of Cash Flows).Generate andanalyze various financial reports for management, providing insightfulcommentary on variances and financial performance.Drive theefficient execution of month -end and year -end closing procedures, ensuring allentries are posted and reconciled.Support theannual budgeting process and provide input for financial forecasting.Monitorexpenditures against budgets, identify significant variances, and providedetailed explanations to management.Conductbasic financial analysis to support decision -making, including trend analysisand cost -benefit analysis.Implementand maintain strong internal financial controls to safeguard company assets andensure data integrity.Ensurestrict adherence to local accounting standards, company policies, and relevantNigerian regulatory requirements (e.g., FIRS, LIRS, CAC, NSITF, PENCOM).Prepare andsubmit accurate tax computations (e.g., Company Income Tax, Value Added Tax,Withholding Tax, Pay As You Earn) and ensure timely remittance to relevantauthorities.Coordinateand facilitate internal and external audit processes, providing necessarydocumentation and explanations to auditors.Stay updatedwith changes in Nigerian tax laws and accounting regulations, advisingmanagement on potential impacts.Identifyopportunities to streamline accounting processes, enhance efficiency, andimprove accuracy through automation or procedural changes.Develop andupdate accounting policies and procedures as required.Liaiseeffectively with management, external auditors, tax consultants, and financialinstitutions.Managevendor and client accounts, resolving complex billing issues and ensuringtimely collections for accounts receivable. RequirementsDegree in Accounting, Finance or a related courseEither ATS Certification or ICAN/ACCA Certification startedor completedMinimum of 3 years of progressive work experience asan Accountant role in a structured organization.Demonstrated experience in preparing full sets of accountsand financial statements.Proven experience with tax computations and filings inNigeria.Proficiency in accounting software packagesExpert -level proficiency in Microsoft Office for financialanalysis and reporting.Strong grasp of Nigerian tax laws.Exceptional analytical and problem -solving skills with akeen eye for detail and accuracy.Strong organizational and time management abilities, capableof managing multiple priorities and meeting strict deadlines.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with theability to present financial information clearly and concisely.High level of integrity, discretion, and confidentiality inhandling sensitive financial information.Proactive, self -motivated, and capable of workingindependently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.Must be willing to resume immediately.Preferably live around Magodo, Ikeja, Ogudu and Environs Benefits
