We are looking to hire a highly experienced and detail-oriented Accountant to join our supermarket team in Ikoyi. The ideal candidate must have a strong background in retail or supermarket accounting, excellent financial reporting skills, and the ability to maintain accurate, compliant financial records.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage daily financial transactions and maintain accurate accounting records
  • Reconcile sales reports, POS summaries, and cash deposits
  • Prepare monthly financial statements and management reports
  • Monitor vendor payments, account balances, and outstanding invoices
  • Maintain petty cash and ensure proper documentation of all expenses
  • Handle payroll computation, statutory deductions, and remittances
  • Assist in stock valuation and financial audit processes
  • Identify financial discrepancies and provide corrective recommendations
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal financial policies

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Minimum 2–3 years experience working as an Accountant in a supermarket or retail environment
  • Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
  • Strong understanding of POS reconciliation, vendor management, and inventory-related accounting
  • Excellent analytical and numerical skills
  • High level of integrity, confidentiality, and attention to detail
  • Strong communication and organizational abilities
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
