JOB SUMMARY

To develop and mature OML 30 field development plans with the aim of growing asset production to at least 100Kbopd. The successful candidate will join a competent team of Reservoir & Petroleum Engineers responsible for championing Reservoir Management and Growth Strategies to maximize the value of our oil and gas assets to enhance hydrocarbon production, optimize field development (plans) and eliminate/reduce deferments where applicable. He/she will mainly work in the Portfolio Management Team and with the Petroleum Engineering Functions to address technical deliverables as assigned by the team leadership.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Develop, plan and execute fit-for-purpose Reservoir Engineering solutions, standards and best practices for the company.
• Provide discipline governance and overall technical QA/QC on all Reservoir Engineering work as input to integrated geological/reservoir modelling and field development planning.
• Recommend new and/or improvements on current Reservoir Engineering tools, processes and technologies to the company; oversee deployment and compliance.
• Lead multidisciplinary asset teams and deputize for Chief Reservoir Engineer, when required.
• Prepare comprehensive documentation, presentations and workshops related to specific business plans, study work scopes or Reservoir Engineering discipline content.
• Manage Reservoir Engineering related service contracts, including scopes of work and technical evaluations.
• Serve as subject matter expert in the areas of reservoir fluid characterization & analysis, SCAL, classical Reservoir Engineering performance techniques, WRFM, uncertainty analysis, production forecasting, reservoir development concepts & plans as well as resource volumes estimation, booking & reporting.
• Analyze and recommend fit-for-purpose Reservoir Engineering interpretation and evaluation technology in the delivery of integrated, predictive geological/reservoir models in line with industry best practice(s). Expert skill in PTA/RTA techniques, dynamic reservoir simulation and techniques in identification & evaluation of various recovery processes is a must.
• Function as Head of Portfolio Management Unit in PMT: Lead the team responsible for day-to-day OML 30 portfolio analysis & growth as well as JV compliance & governance activities.
• Manage technical communications with management, JV partners, government and other third parties.

QUALIFICATION

1. BSc in Petroleum Engineering or other related engineering degrees. Advanced degrees will be an added advantage.

2.  Minimum of 15 years of relevant industry experience in Reservoir Management, Reserves Estimation, Reservoir Simulation Modelling, preferably in oil & gas operating company.

3. Expert knowledge level of Eclipse, IPM tools (Prosper, GAP, MBAL, etc.), OFM, etc. will be added advantage.

4. Previous experience in Technical Business Planning/Analysis will be an added advantage

REQUISITE TECHNICAL & BEHAVIOURAL SKILL

1.  Expertise at skills level of PetrelRE, Eclipse (or tNavigator), Sapphire, MBAL and Reservoir Engineering tools.

2.  Skilled in planning of PVT sample acquisition, handling and analyses. Competent in the design of well test and special core analysis programs.

3.  Current with the latest industry tools and Reservoir Engineering interpretation techniques.

4.  Good organizational and communication skills, high level of self-motivation and the ability to influence stakeholders.

5.  Strong project management and organizational skills.

6.   Proven track record of leading people, coaching and mentoring junior staff.

7.   Good technical, analytical, conceptual and innovative thinking skills.

8.   Strong communication and presentation skills.

9.    Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office software packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
