Role & responsibilities

  • Monitor and control vessel movements within port limits, including arrivals, berthing, departures, and shifting of vessels.
  • Coordinate with pilots, tug boats, and mooring gangs to ensure safe berthing and unberthing operations.
  • Enforce port and maritime safety regulations, including ISPS and IMO standards.
  • Conduct inspections of vessels, port infrastructure, and marine equipment as required.
  • Liaise with shipping agents, customs, immigration, and other stakeholders for smooth port operations.
  • Maintain accurate records of vessel traffic, port usage, and daily activities.
  • Respond to maritime emergencies and assist in implementing emergency response plans.
  • Support environmental compliance activities such as pollution control and waste management.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in port operations and safety practices.
  • Assist in preparing operational reports and documentation for port authority or management.
