About LANI Group
LANI Group is a dynamic African conglomerate with interests spanning consulting, technology, education, creative industries, human capital development, merchandising, and food systems. Through its integrated network of subsidiaries, the Group drives innovation, sustainability, and inclusive growth across emerging markets.
As we expand our strategic footprint, LANI Group seeks to strengthen its Board of Directors with exceptional professionals who bring experience, foresight, and commitment to advancing enterprise and impact across Africa.
Board Composition
The LANI Group Board will comprise
five to seven members
representing diverse professional, geographic, and sectoral backgrounds. Members will include leaders and experts in
business development, finance, technology, consulting, law, communications, human capital, and sustainability.
Collectively, the Board will bring a balance of
strategic foresight, industry experience, and governance expertise
, ensuring that LANI Group remains positioned for growth, innovation, and impact across its subsidiaries. The composition aims to foster cross-sector collaboration, informed decision-making, and global representation consistent with the Group's vision for Africa's enterprise transformation.
Board Opportunities
We are inviting expressions of interest from accomplished professionals to serve as
Independent Non-Executive Board Members
in the following key domains:
Business Development & International Partnerships
- Individuals with demonstrated experience in market expansion, strategic partnerships, and business development, particularly across
emerging markets
.
2. Strong understanding of
creative industries, technology, and innovation
(including AI, blockchain, and digital ecosystems).
3. Proven ability to develop high-impact partnerships, drive market entry, and scale global collaborations.
Finance, Capital Structuring & Investment Strategy
- Professionals with a strong finance background and prior experience in
capital raising, grant management, and financial restructuring
for startups or growth-stage enterprises.
2. Skilled in financial re-engineering, investment readiness, and resource mobilisation.
3. Experience in both
development finance
and private sector growth models is highly desirable.
Communications, Advocacy & Legal Strategy
- Experts with robust experience in
public relations, stakeholder engagement, advocacy, or legal advisory
, especially within international or multi-sector contexts.
2. Ability to position and represent LANI Group's innovations on global stages.
Strong grasp of corporate communications, governance frameworks, and reputation management.
People, Culture & Organisational Development
- Professionals passionate about
human capital, organisational culture, and systems design
.
3. Track record in developing structures and policies that align
strategy with execution
across diverse business units.
4. Experience embedding performance, inclusion, and talent development practices in growth-driven organisations.
Preferred Sector Expertise
Candidates should ideally demonstrate professional depth in at least
four (4)
of the following six sectors:
- FMCG & Merchandising
- Technology & Digital Innovation
- Management Consulting
- Education & Training
- Creative Industries
- Human Capital Development
Eligibility
Applicants should have:
- Minimum of
15 years of professional experience
, with at least 5 years in senior management, executive leadership, or board-level governance.
- Strong alignment with LANI Group's mission and values.
- Excellent communication, diplomacy, and advisory skills.
- Global perspective and cross-cultural awareness.
- Open to applicants
worldwide
, including members of the Nigerian and African diaspora.
- A proven record of executive or board-level leadership.
- A passion for innovation, sustainability, and inclusive economic transformation.
- Demonstrable integrity, sound judgment, and cross-sector collaboration experience.
Terms of Appointment
Board appointments will be for an
initial two-year term
, renewable subject to performance and mutual agreement. Members are expected to dedicate
approximately one day per month
to LANI Group activities, including attendance at meetings, participation in strategy sessions, and representation at relevant forums or stakeholder events.
This is a
voluntary, unremunerated role
, though
reasonable, pre-approved expenses
will be reimbursed. Where necessary, a modest stipend may be provided to support participation and engagement.
