Our client, a leading manufacturing company, is seeking a highly organized and proactive
Expatriate Immigration Manager
to oversee all immigration, quota, and regulatory compliance processes for expatriate employees. The ideal candidate will serve as the primary liaison between the company and government agencies, ensuring seamless onboarding, work authorization, compliance, and welfare of all foreign nationals.
Key Responsibilities
Expatriate Immigration & Regulatory Compliance
- Manage all expatriate immigration processes, including STR, CERPAC, work permits, quota applications, visa renewals, and residence permits.
- Ensure full compliance with Nigerian immigration laws, Ministry of Interior regulations, and other relevant statutory bodies.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of expatriate documents, timelines, approvals, and status reports.
- Coordinate periodic audits, compliance checks, and regulatory filings required by government agencies.
Expatriate Quota & Documentation Management
- Manage expatriate quota positions, renewal timelines, utilization, and reporting.
- Prepare and submit applications, renewals, and documentation on behalf of the company.
- Track and monitor expiration dates for visas, passports, permits, and quotas to avoid lapses.
Stakeholder & Government Relations
- Act as the primary company representative with immigration agencies, embassies, consulates, and regulatory bodies.
- Build strong relationships with external consultants, government officials, and legal partners to ensure smooth processing.
Employee Support & Onboarding
- Facilitate smooth onboarding of expatriates, including travel arrangements, documentation, and settlement support.
- Provide guidance to expatriate staff on immigration requirements, renewals, and compliance expectations.
- Support HR and Admin teams with expatriate welfare, travel desk requirements, and mobility-related tasks.
Process Management & Reporting
- Develop standardized immigration procedures and ensure company-wide adherence.
- Prepare periodic reports on expatriate status, quota usage, renewal cycles, and compliance milestones.
- Continuously improve processes to minimize delays, risks, and operational disruptions.
Requirement/Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Law, Business Administration, HR, or related field.
- Minimum of 4–6 years experience in expatriate management, immigration processing, or mobility management (manufacturing experience is an added advantage).
- Strong knowledge of Nigerian immigration regulations and expatriate quota systems.
- Excellent communication, government liaison, and documentation skills.
- High level of professionalism, confidentiality, and attention to detail.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
