Social Media Manager

Fernhill Digital Group | Yaba, Lagos | Hybrid (3 days in-office)

About Fernhill Digital Group

Fernhill Digital Group is a Digital Transformation and Strategic Communications Agency helping businesses across Nigeria elevate their brand presence and achieve measurable results. We work with clients across diverse industries, combining strategic thinking with creative execution to deliver digital solutions that drive real business impact.

We're building systematic operations and professional processes that enable us to consistently deliver exceptional work for our clients.

The Role

We're looking for a Social Media Manager who can develop and execute platform-specific content strategies for multiple client accounts. You'll work closely with our Creative Strategist to create content calendars, manage community engagement, and deliver campaigns that drive measurable business results.

Reporting to: Creative Strategist

Position Level: Associate

Work Arrangement: Hybrid - In-office Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday (Yaba)

Compensation: Competitive salary based on experience

What You'll Do

  • Manage social media presence for multiple client brands across various platforms including Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and TikTok, with some clients requiring multi-platform strategies and others focused on single-platform execution.
  • Develop and execute content calendars that align with each client's brand strategy, creating platform-specific content including static posts, carousels, and short-form video content where applicable.
  • Collaborate with the Creative Strategist to develop strategic approaches for client campaigns, adapting strategies based on real-time engagement data and trending topics within the Nigerian market.
  • Monitor and respond to comments, messages, and community interactions across all platforms, maintaining professional and brand-appropriate communication via WhatsApp and social channels.
  • Track and analyze social media performance metrics, preparing monthly reports that demonstrate campaign effectiveness and provide actionable insights for strategy refinement.
  • Collaborate with the creative team to brief content needs, provide feedback on drafts, and ensure deliverables meet client expectations and deadlines.
  • Stay current with platform updates, algorithm changes, and emerging social media trends relevant to Nigerian audiences and our client industries.
  • Coordinate with Brand Managers to ensure social media activities align with broader marketing campaigns and business objectives.

What You'll Need

Essential Requirements:

  • 2-4 years minimum of hands-on experience managing social media accounts for brands, preferably in an agency or multi-client environment.
  • Strong creative ability to develop engaging content concepts and execute them across different platforms with consistent brand voice.
  • Excellent copywriting skills with the ability to adapt tone and messaging for different brands, audiences, and platforms.
  • Working knowledge of social media management and scheduling tools (experience with Metricool is a plus but not required).
  • Proficiency with social media analytics - ability to read platform insights and translate data into strategic recommendations.
  • Strong organizational skills with proven ability to manage multiple client deadlines simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Clear communication skills and comfort using WhatsApp as a secondary business communication channel.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

What Will Set You Apart:

  • Video editing skills with experience creating Instagram Reels, TikTok content, or other short-form video.
  • Experience developing social media strategies independently.
  • Experience working with diverse client industries and adapting communication styles accordingly.
  • Familiarity with paid social media advertising and Meta Business Suite.
  • Photography skills or experience coordinating content shoots.
  • Understanding of how social media drives business outcomes (customer acquisition, retention, lifetime value).
  • Bachelor's degree in Mass Communication, Marketing, Digital Media, or related field.

What Makes You Successful Here
