JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking to hire an experienced Finance Lead with audit or tax experience who embraces technology easily and is confident using basic presentation and analytical software to join our existing top-notch team. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Financial Management & Reporting

• Lead end-to-end finance operations including payables, receivables, payroll, invoicing, and reconciliations.
• Prepare and review monthly and quarterly management reports in line with IFRS and internal performance dashboards.
• Develop and maintain budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis models to support decision-making.
• Conduct financial performance reviews by department, campaign, and client.

2. Project & Client Profitability

• Track job costs, margins, and recoverables across campaigns, productions, and retainers.
• Collaborate with account leads and production teams to ensure accurate client billing, WIP management, and revenue recognition.
• Analyze gross profit trends, pricing, and cost drivers to recommend margin-improvement strategies.
• Support commercial negotiations with clients and vendors from a finance perspective

3. Tax & Regulatory Compliance

• Ensure timely and accurate filing of VAT, WHT, PAYE, CIT, and Pensions, in line with Nigerian tax laws.
• Manage correspondence and audits with FIRS, LIRS, and other regulators.
• Prepare statutory audit schedules and lead annual audit engagements.

4. Systems, Controls & Process Improvement

• Strengthen internal control procedures and accounting policies.
• Leverage technology (e.g., Zoho Books, Excel) to automate reporting and improve accuracy.
• Continuously assess and improve financial processes to enhance efficiency and compliance.

5. Leadership & Team Development

• Lead and mentor two junior accountants, ensuring their growth and accountability.
• Establish review processes and checklists to ensure accuracy and timely close.
• Foster a culture of ownership, professionalism, and collaboration within the finance team.

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• ACA or ACCA certification (or in final stages) is strongly preferred.
• 6–8 years of experience in accounting, audit, or finance — ideally with exposure to agency, media, or service environments.
• Excellent understanding of IFRS, Nigerian tax laws, and financial reporting.
• Strong command of Excel and presentation tools (PowerPoint); proficiency in Zoho Books or similar accounting software.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, creative environment.
• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
