About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accountant to join our growing supermarket team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience working in a retail or supermarket environment, with strong knowledge of inventory accounting, financial reporting, and cost control. You will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial management and supporting the company's operational and business goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including daily sales, expenses, and reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Oversee stock control, purchases, and supplier payments.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal financial policies.
• Manage payroll, taxes, and statutory remittances.
• Conduct regular financial analysis and provide management with insights to improve profitability.
• Support external audits and prepare documentation for review.
• Liaise with management and other departments to ensure sound financial decisions.

Requirements

• B.Sc./HND in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Chartered Accountant (ICAN/ACCA) certification or currently in the process of becoming chartered.
• Minimum of 3 years' experience working as an Accountant in a retail or supermarket environment (required).
• Strong understanding of inventory management and POS systems.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar).
• Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
• Integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail are essential.

Remuneration

• ₦250,000 per month
