Job Position: Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

Key Responsibilities
Financial Strategy & Oversight:
- Develop and execute the company's financial strategy aligned with growth goals.
- Build 12-month and 36-month financial models for sportsbooks, virtuals, pools, and gamification products.
- Oversee capital planning, investor relations, and funding structures.
- Oversee financial health, budgeting, cost control, and casino/bookmaking margin integrity.
Sportsbook financial Operations:
- Monitor GGR/NGR daily, weekly, and monthly.
- Manage exposure/liability limits for ACCA, Pools, and FlashBet markets.
- Maintain bonus balance sheets, promo budgets, and cost-of-acquisition controls.
- Structure payout buffers to ensure instant or near-instant withdrawals.
Treasury, Cashflow & Payment Systems:
- Oversee all payment channels: bank transfers, wallets, USSD, cards, agents, PSPs.
- Ensure accurate reconciliation across all PSPs and banking partners.
- Maintain liquidity thresholds to support peak-event withdrawals (e.g., EPL weekends).
- Build treasury dashboards for real-time visibility.
Regulatory, tax and Compliance:
- Ensure strict compliance with: State Lottery Boards, NLRC frameworks, Anti-money laundering (AML), KYC/identity validation, Bet settlement audit trails
- Manage tax obligations including withholding, gaming levies, and double-tax risk mitigation.
Risk Management & Internal Controls:
- Establish end-to-end financial controls for deposits, withdrawals, promo leakage, odds settlement, and fraud mitigation.
- Implement security protocols to prevent insider risk and payout manipulation.
- Build a robust fraud detection and reconciliation environment.
Performance Reporting:
- Provide weekly Board dashboards covering: Revenue & GGR trends, Cost of acquisition (CPA) across channels, Margin performance, LTV, ARPU, user cohorts, Bonus burn rate, Agent & affiliate profitability, Lead quarterly and annual financial reporting.
Succeess Metrics (KPIs)
- Accuracy of financial reporting | Daily cashflow stability & liquidity buffer maintenance | Withdrawal turnaround time | GGR/NGR health & margin integrity | Bonus leakage optimisation | Reconciliation accuracy across all channels | Fraud incidents prevented/detected | Tax and regulatory compliance | Cost-of-acquisition vs LTV ratio | Operating cost efficiency
Required Experience & Qualifications
- 10–12 years of financial leadership experience, ideally in gaming, fintech, telco, or digital payments.
- Strong expertise in sportsbook GGR modelling, liability management, and high-volume micro-transaction environments.
- Deep understanding of the Nigerian regulatory tax environment for betting companies.
- Proven track record in treasury, payment systems, reconciliations, and fraud risk management.
- Strong analytical, data-driven, and forecasting skills.
