Role Description
The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing all procurement,
logistics, inventory, and material control activities related to the project. The role ensures that all
materials and services are sourced, delivered, and managed efficiently to meet project timelines,
quality standards, and cost objectives.
Given the complexity of the project and the international nature of procurement, an experienced
expatriate professional is recommended for this position to leverage global supply networks and
ensure efficient supply chain execution.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive supply chain strategy for the project, covering
- procurement, logistics, warehousing, and inventory control.
- Oversee all project procurement activities including vendor selection, negotiation, and
- management in line with company and client standards.
- Manage sourcing of critical materials, equipment, and services for tank construction and
- associated oil & gas facilities.
- Ensure compliance with local and international procurement regulations and standards.
- Liaise with engineering, construction, and finance teams to align procurement with project
- needs and budget.
- Establish and maintain supplier performance metrics and evaluation systems.
- Supervise the logistics team to ensure timely delivery, clearance, and transportation of imported
- materials and equipment.
- Monitor stock levels and implement efficient inventory management systems to minimize
- shortages and excess.
- Review and approve purchase orders, bid evaluations, and procurement documentation.
- Coordinate with project control and finance teams to ensure proper cost tracking and reporting.
- Ensure all procurement and logistics activities adhere to company policies and ethical standards.
- Lead and mentor the supply chain team to enhance performance and capability.
- Prepare and present weekly and monthly supply chain status reports to management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or
- related discipline.
- Master's Degree or professional certifications (CIPS, ASCM, CSCP, PMP) will be an added
- advantage.
- Minimum of 10–15 years progressive experience in supply chain and procurement management
- within oil & gas, EPC, or large industrial construction projects.
- Proven track record in international sourcing and logistics for heavy industrial or oil & gas
- projects.
- Excellent negotiation, vendor management, and cost control skills.
- Strong knowledge of import/export processes, customs regulations, and supply chain software
- tools.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage multi disciplinary and multicultural
- teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
