  • The HSE Manager shall be responsible for all HSE processes also to articulate, develop and continuously monitor a comprehensive Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) monitoring framework within which the Company will conduct its operations and ensure compliance with local, state and federal government legislation/regulation on environmental protection.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develop a comprehensive HSE and Quality Assurance strategy and plan based on the Association's overall strategies and plans for the industry.
  • Ensure the dissemination and effective deployment of information on high standard HSE systems, processes and plans to stakeholders and monitor uptake / compliance.
  • Promote the development and adoption of Emergency situation and Contingency Plans by members.
  • Build on the existing development within the Association's HSE faculty on training programmes and promote the interest and awareness of same amongst members, industry stakeholders and the general public.
  • Identify, appoint and train safety personnel at the branch levels and head office and keep these resource staff abreast of the current HSE standards, regulations and laws. Utilise same in monitoring field HSE incidents and preparing reports for the members / industry.
  • Liaise with all relevant regulatory agencies and drive conformity between their HSE statutory requirements.
  • Carry out audits of member facilities and installations to ensure adherence to HSE standards of performance and the elimination of all unsafe conditions and practices by their employees and/or customers.
  • Organize and maintain standard HSE Awareness for members and other stakeholders and acquaint them with all arrangements on fire prevention and control, occupational health and first aid.
  • Promote, organize and manage the Association's HSE Awareness Training Programmes in such regular calendar manner as to generate revenue for the Association according to set revenue targets.
  • Liaise with partners and resource persons to improve the potentials for association's HSE Training faculty.
  • Investigate all accidents and near misses and render timely reports with recommendations for the prevention of future occurrence.
  • Prepare weekly/monthly HSE Updates for members / stakeholders.

Key Performance Indicators

Subject to quarterly reviews, KPIs will be measured on basis of periodic set targets with respect to:

  • Increase in Safety awareness across board
  • % Completion of safety inspections
  • Regularity of trainings and number of trainings to members
  • Number of HSE compliance reports generated
  • Revenue generation from safety and related training exercises

Qualifications & Experience

  • A good University Degree in Engineering or Environmental/Chemical Sciences Membership
  • 5-7 years of post-qualification experience in HSE function in an Oil & Gas Industry company.
  • Experience in LPG or gas related HSE work is an advantage.
  • NEBOSH IGC HSE Level 3 or equivalent required.
  • Applicants must reside in Lagos.

Salary

N400,000 - N450,000 / month.
