Job Summary

The Civil/Structural Engineer will be responsible for planning, designing, and supervising civil and structural engineering components of commercial and industrial construction projects. The role ensures that all structures are safe, efficient, cost-effective, and compliant with engineering standards and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop civil and structural designs, calculations, and detailed engineering drawings for commercial and industrial projects.

  • Prepare structural analysis and modeling using relevant software (ETABS, STAAD Pro, Safe, Prokon, etc.).

  • Conduct site inspections, geotechnical assessments, and structural evaluations to determine project requirements.

  • Review architectural, mechanical, and electrical drawings to ensure structural integrity and seamless integration.

  • Prepare technical specifications, design reports, engineering calculations, and construction documents.

  • Provide technical guidance during construction, ensuring adherence to approved designs, standards, and regulations.

  • Supervise and monitor project execution activities, including foundations, concrete works, steel structures, and infrastructure works.

  • Conduct quality control checks and ensure compliance with safety standards.

  • Evaluate design changes, prepare structural solutions, and assess the impact on cost and schedule.

  • Collaborate with contractors, architects, quantity surveyors, and other stakeholders to ensure coordinated project delivery.

  • Support tendering processes by providing structural input, drawings, and technical assessments.

  • Prepare and submit progress reports, site documentation, and engineering records.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 8 years of hands-on experience in civil and structural engineering within the construction industry.

  • COREN certification is an added advantage.

  • Strong knowledge of Nigerian building codes, engineering standards, and construction methodologies.

  • Proficient in engineering design and analytical software (AutoCAD, STAAD Pro, ETABS, Safe, Prokon).

  • Excellent understanding of reinforced concrete and steel design principles.

  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and technical reporting skills.

  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications accurately.

  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

  • Willingness to work at construction sites across multiple locations in Nigeria.
