About the Role

Our client, a fast-growing
fintech company
, is seeking a strategic and commercially minded
Head of Partnerships
to lead the development, execution, and scaling of high-impact partnerships that drive customer growth, product adoption, and revenue expansion.

This role is responsible for identifying, structuring, and managing strategic alliances across financial institutions, fintechs, merchants, telcos, platforms, and ecosystem players. The ideal candidate combines strong negotiation skills with a deep understanding of fintech ecosystems, partnership economics, and long-term value creation.

Key Responsibilities

Partnership Strategy & Growth

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive partnerships strategy aligned with the company's growth and revenue goals.
  • Identify, evaluate, and onboard strategic partners across banking, payments, lending, merchants, technology platforms, and distribution networks.
  • Build partnership models that drive scale, market access, and product adoption.

Deal Structuring & Negotiation

  • Lead partnership negotiations, commercial structuring, and contract development.
  • Define partnership economics, revenue-sharing models, and performance expectations.
  • Ensure mutually beneficial agreements that align with business objectives and risk appetite.

Ecosystem & Channel Development

  • Expand distribution through channel partnerships, embedded finance, and platform integrations.
  • Manage key relationships with banks, fintechs, aggregators, regulators, and ecosystem stakeholders.
  • Identify new market and product opportunities through partnerships.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with product, technology, legal, risk, compliance, and operations teams to deliver successful partner integrations.
  • Support go-to-market strategies with marketing and sales teams for partner-led initiatives.
  • Ensure smooth onboarding, integration, and ongoing management of partners.

Performance Management & Reporting

  • Define KPIs to measure partnership success, including revenue, volume, acquisition, and engagement metrics.
  • Track partner performance and continuously optimize partnership effectiveness.
  • Provide regular reports and strategic insights to executive leadership.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing partnerships team.
  • Establish governance frameworks, processes, and best practices for partnership management.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and innovation.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
  • MBA or relevant postgraduate qualification is an advantage.
  • 8–12+ years of experience in partnerships, business development, or alliances within fintech, banking, payments, or financial services
    , with
    at least 4–5 years in a senior leadership role
    .
  • Strong understanding of fintech ecosystems, regulatory considerations, and partnership economics.
  • Proven track record of closing and scaling high-impact strategic partnerships.
  • Excellent negotiation, stakeholder management, and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams in fast-paced, high-growth environments.
  • Strong analytical, commercial, and strategic thinking abilities.
