Job Summary

Our client, a reputable real estate and facilities management company in Ikoyi, is seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant with a minimum of 5 years experience in financial reporting, taxation, budgeting, and statutory compliance. The ideal candidate will ensure accurate financial management, effective internal controls, and timely regulatory submissions while supporting strategic business decisions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in line with IFRS and internal reporting standards.

  • Lead budgeting and forecasting processes, including variance analysis and performance tracking.

  • Manage company tax affairs, including VAT, WHT, CIT, and PAYE, ensuring timely remittance and compliance with relevant tax laws.

  • Oversee statutory filings, regulatory documentation, and liaison with FIRS, LIRS, and external auditors.

  • Maintain the general ledger, ensuring accuracy of entries, reconciliations, and financial records.

  • Implement and strengthen internal controls, accounting procedures, and financial policies.

  • Monitor cash flow, prepare treasury reports, and support financial planning initiatives.

  • Coordinate audit processes, providing required documentation and addressing audit queries.

  • Support management with financial insights, cost-saving opportunities, and operational recommendations.

  • Ensure proper fixed asset accounting, project cost tracking, and expense control especially relevant to real estate and facility operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

  • Minimum of 5 years relevant experience; experience in real estate or facilities management is an added advantage.

  • Professional qualifications (ICAN/ACCA) are required or in final stages.

  • Strong understanding of IFRS, tax regulations, and statutory reporting.

  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks, Zoho Books, or similar).

  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong attention to detail, integrity, and ability to work with minimal supervision.
