Role Description

We are looking for a Data Engineer to build and maintain our data infrastructure. You will be responsible for creating a relational database using AWS services, ensuring data is effectively collected, stored, and prepared for analysis. This is a hands-on role that requires a strong understanding of data modeling, ETL pipelines, and AWS cloud services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement a scalable relational database using AWS (e.g., Amazon RDS, Redshift).
  • Build and maintain ETL pipelines to ingest, clean, and transform data from various sources.
  • Develop data models and optimize database performance.
  • Collaborate with developers and stakeholders to define data requirements.
  • Ensure data quality, integrity, and security.
  • Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions for data pipelines.
  • Troubleshoot data-related issues and conduct root cause analysis.
  • Document database schemas, ETL processes, and data flows.

Qualifications

  • Expertise in Data Engineering and Data Warehousing
  • Proven experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and database management.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS services like Amazon RDS, Redshift, S3, and Glue.
  • Experience in building ETL pipelines using tools such as AWS Glue, Lambda, or Step Functions.
  • Familiarity with data modeling concepts (e.g., star schema, snowflake schema).
  • Knowledge of Python or another programming language.
  • Understanding of data warehousing and data lakes.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with data visualization tools like QuickSight, Tableau, or Power BI.
  • Familiarity with data governance and security best practices.
  • Familiarity with health data structuring and sources
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code (e.g., CloudFormation, Terraform).
  • Machine Learning Background
