Role Purpose (Read Carefully)

This role is
not
a traditional HR desk job.

We are looking for a
high-trust HR & Admin Operations Officer
who will act as the
day-to-day operational extension of senior management
for Soundhous and CED Africa.

You will be responsible for
ensuring policies are followed, people are accountable, information flows accurately, and standards are upheld
—even when leadership is not physically present.

If you avoid difficult conversations, dislike structure, or struggle with discretion,
this role will not be a fit
.

Core ResponsibilitiesHR Operations

  • Execute and enforce HR policies across both businesses
  • Manage onboarding, probation tracking, confirmations, and exits
  • Maintain accurate staff records, contracts, and documentation
  • Track attendance, leave, punctuality, and disciplinary issues
  • Coordinate performance reviews and follow-ups
  • Conduct reference checks and support recruitment processes
  • Act as first point of contact for staff HR concerns

Administrative & Office Operations

  • Oversee daily office operations and facilities coordination
  • Ensure staff compliance with company standards and protocols
  • Support payroll preparation and benefits administration
  • Manage vendor coordination (cleaning, security, utilities, etc.)
  • Ensure proper documentation, filing, and internal controls

Governance, Reporting & Oversight (Critical)

  • Provide
    clear, factual weekly reports
    to management
  • Escalate risks, people issues, and operational gaps early
  • Monitor staff conduct, professionalism, and adherence to expectations
  • Ensure confidentiality and integrity of sensitive information
  • Serve as a trusted internal observer—not a passive messenger

Minimum Requirements (Non-Negotiable)

  • 3–6 years experience in
    HR operations and/or office administration
  • Strong understanding of HR processes and Nigerian labour practices
  • Excellent documentation and reporting skills
  • High integrity, discretion, and professionalism
  • Confidence to enforce rules and handle sensitive issues
  • Strong follow-through and attention to detail
