Job Overview

We are looking for a Purchasing Specialist who will manage the end-to-end procurement process, ensuring the timely acquisition of high-quality materials, components, byproducts, and equipment at the best price possible. Key duties include sourcing vendors, negotiating contracts, managing inventory levels, tracking orders, and collaborating with production and warehouse teams to maintain efficient manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

Procurement & Sourcing: Identify potential suppliers, byproducts buyers, evaluate offers, and negotiate contracts for cost-effective, high-quality materials.

Inventory & Order Management: Monitor stock levels, prepare purchase orders (POs), and ensure materials arrive on time to meet production and warehouse schedules.

Quality Assurance: Review received goods to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.

Supplier Relations: Maintain and develop strong, productive relationships with key suppliers.

Data Management & Reporting: Update purchasing databases, track orders, and generate cost-analysis reports.

Logistics & Coordination: Liaise with warehouse staff to manage inventory and ensure appropriate storage.

Cost Optimization: Analyze market trends and evaluate vendor performance to maximize return on investment (ROI).

Key Skills and Qualifications

Education: HND/BSC in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.

Proven experience as a Purchasing Officer, Buyer, or in a similar procurement role, ideally within a manufacturing environment.

Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, and MS Office, especially Excel.
