Job Title: TEAM LEAD – SEC REGULATED ISSUING HOUSE COMPANY
Location: Ikoyi, Lagos
Job Summary:
The Team Lead will oversee the strategic and operational activities of the Issuing House, ensuring compliance with SEC regulations and delivering high-quality financial advisory and capital market services. This role requires a profession with some experience in investment banking, capital markets, and regulatory compliance in Nigeria.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership
- Develop and implement operational strategies aligned with the company's goals and SEC regulations.
- Lead and manage the team of sponsored individuals and professionals involved in capital market transactions.
Capital Market Operations
- Oversee the structuring, packaging, and execution of public offerings, private placements, and bond issuances
- Coordinate the preparation of prospectuses, scheme documents, and other transaction-related materials.
- Liaise with regulatory bodies including SEC, NSE, and FMDQ for approvals and compliance.
Client Advisory
- Provide financial advisory services to corporate and government clients on capital raising and investment strategies.
- Develop tailored solutions for clients seeking equity or debt financing.
Compliance & Governance
- Alongside the Compliance Officer ensure full compliance with SEC's Investments and Securities Act (ISA) 2007 and all relevant rules and guidelines
Team Management
- Mentor and supervise sponsored individuals and junior staff.
- Foster a culture of professionalism, integrity, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications & Experience:
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Law, or related field.
- Master's degree or professional certifications (e.g., CFA, ACA, CIS) is an added advantage and SEC sponsored individuals is an added advantage.
Professional Experience
- Minimum of 4–10 years experience in investment banking, issuing house operations, or capital markets
- Proven track record in managing public issues, private placements, and bond issuances.
- Experience working with regulatory bodies and understanding of SEC registration processes.
Regulatory Requirements
- Must have participated in multiple capital market transactions with documented evidence.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent analytical and financial modeling capabilities.
- Deep understanding of Nigerian capital market regulations.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
