The Accountant will play a critical role in ensuring the financial integrity of our organization. This position will be responsible for accounting in the Head and State Offices, ensuring compliance with contractual financial requirements.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist the Finance Manager in maintaining accurate financial records, including checking accounts, equipment and supply registers, and all accounting records.
- Work with the Senior Program Officer to prepare monthly and annual financial reports, including financial status of sub-project account activities with accompanying bank documentation and receipts.
- Monitor sub-project budgets and analyze financial data to produce periodic and ad hoc reports.
- Support the Finance Manager in reviewing and auditing project reports for reimbursement of expenditures and processing cash advances, retirements, petty cash management, and refunds.
- BS/BA Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration, or its recognized equivalent, with 4-6 years of relevant experience.
- Or MS/MA degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration, or its recognized equivalent, with 3-5 years of relevant experience.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in accounting relating to development programs.
- Familiarity with Donor-funded programs and non-governmental organizations in Nigeria is an advantage.
- CPA, ACA, or recognized equivalent is an advantage.
