JOB SUMMARY
You have a minimum of five years of accounting experience within a multinational business or top-tier accounting firm and have mastery of IFRS accounting standards (US GAAP a plus).You are highly proficient in MS or Google productivity tools.You have fantastic written and spoken communication skills.You are able to work collaboratively across departmental functions.You have strong knowledge of internal controls and financial reporting.You have the appetite to jump headfirst into a fast-moving, fast-growing, mission-driven team that values creativity and output.You have the ability to turn data sets into meaningful insights.Have a CPA, CA, or ACCA qualification (or similar accounting qualification for your jurisdiction).While this is NOT strictly required, it would be a plus if you:Have previous experience in a social enterprise or healthcare startup.Have experience with QBO.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing.Monthly balance sheet and P&L fluctuation analysis.Consolidation, inter-company / related party transactions, reconciliations, and foreign currency accounting.Bank account reconciliations.Perform daily and weekly revenue recognition and cost optimization exercises.Overseeing processing of payables, including vendor payments, payroll, and tax compliance.Work with external auditors to perform the annual audit in Nigeria.Provide monthly management reports.Interface with team members in various departments, including the engineering, operations, and healthcare teams.Oversee expense management and ensure proper GL coding and processing of expenses in QBO.Support overall department goals and objectives.Fulfill other ad-hoc finance requests as requested by management.
