  • Africa is the world's youngest continent and expanding the fastest. The number of young people working in Africa will rise to 375 million by 2030.
  • The International Monetary Fund estimates that by 2035, there will be more young Africans joining the workforce each year than there are in the rest of the world put together due to population growth on the continent.
  • The number of young individuals looking for work is much higher than the number of opportunities that are open to them. The skills of young people entering the workforce and the needs of companies are also out of sync.
  • Many young people will have trouble finding employment to better their living conditions if nothing is done.
  • We have spent the last six months investigating the finest methods for creating the talent workflow system that will assist in matching African talents with opportunities. Currently, at the stage of executing the prototype system, business processes while some aspect is live in production to start generating revenue and Marketing.
  • We'll close the skills gap and provide African talent greater job chances.
  • The founders are individuals with top academic background, professional experience in leading companies at leadership positions & strong technical background.
  • The aim of the company is to become a "unicorn" one-billion-dollar valuation in the next 3-5 years as the product-market is considerably validated.

Description

  • We are seeking a Chief Strategic Officer. This individual may have the opportunity to work on strategic, operational, and transformation projects. The person in this role may manage short and long term strategic direction of the business. This position location is LAGOS, though the team currently work a remote schedule.
  • The Chief Strategy Officer CSO will be responsible for developing and executing the company's strategic vision, aligning the organization's goals with long-term growth opportunities. This role requires a forward-thinking leader with a deep understanding of both the education and software development sectors. The CSO will work closely with the CEO and other executives to identify and pursue new market opportunities, optimize operational efficiency, and ensure the company's strategic initiatives are fully integrated across all departments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Planning: Develop and implement the company's long-term strategic plan, ensuring alignment with the overall mission and business objectives. Translate high-level strategies into actionable plans that drive growth and profitability.
  • Market Analysis: Conduct in-depth analysis of market trends, customer needs, and competitive dynamics in the education and software development sectors. Identify new business opportunities and areas for expansion.
  • Innovation Leadership: Drive innovation by identifying emerging technologies, trends, and educational methodologies that can be leveraged to enhance the company's offerings and competitive edge.
  • Partnership Development: Establish and nurture strategic partnerships with key stakeholders, including educational institutions, technology providers, and industry leaders, to enhance the company's market presence and product offerings.
  • Product Strategy: Collaborate with product development teams to ensure that the company's products align with market demands and strategic goals. Provide input on product roadmaps, feature prioritization, and go-to-market strategies.
  • Operational Efficiency: Work with department heads to optimize internal processes, improve operational efficiency, and ensure that resources are aligned with strategic priorities. Implement metrics to measure and track the success of strategic initiatives.
  • Financial Strategy: Collaborate with the CFO to develop and manage the financial strategy, including budgeting, forecasting, and investment planning, to support the company's growth objectives.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks and challenges to the company's strategic goals and develop mitigation strategies to address them proactively.
  • Team Leadership: Lead cross-functional teams in the execution of strategic initiatives, ensuring collaboration and alignment across all levels of the organization.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Communicate the company's strategic vision and progress to internal and external stakeholders, including investors, partners, and employees.
  • Continuous Improvement: Foster a culture of continuous improvement by regularly reviewing and refining the company's strategic direction in response to market changes and organizational learning.

Qualifications

  • Experience:15+ years of experience in strategic planning, business development, or a related field, with at least 10 years in a senior leadership role. Experience in the education and/or software development industries is highly preferred.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and inspire teams, with a track record of successfully driving strategic initiatives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Strategic Thinking: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically about complex business challenges and develop innovative solutions.
  • Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of the education sector, software development trends, and the challenges and opportunities within these industries.
  • Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate a clear vision and build consensus among diverse stakeholders.
  • Financial Acumen: Strong understanding of financial principles, including budgeting, forecasting, and ROI analysis, to support strategic decision-making.
  • Education: Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Business Administration, Strategy, Education, or a related field. An MBA or advanced degree is preferred.
