Job Title: Café Attendant - Customer Service Expert

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Café Attendant to provide exceptional customer service and manage snack sales at the Jenniez School of African Interior Design café. This role is ideal for someone with excellent communication skills, a warm and welcoming demeanor, and the ability to create a relaxing environment for students and staff.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Greet Customers and Provide Excellent Service: Greet customers warmly, respond to their inquiries, and provide a positive experience.
  • Prepare and Serve Beverages: Prepare and serve high-quality coffee, tea, and other beverages in a timely manner.
  • Manage Snack Sales: Manage the sale of snacks, beverages, and other café items, maintaining accurate records of transactions.
  • Maintain Cleanliness and Organization: Maintain a clean and organized café, including tables, counters, and equipment.
  • Restock Supplies and Monitor Inventory: Restock supplies and monitor inventory levels to ensure availability of products.
  • Handle Cash and Mobile Payments: Handle cash, mobile payments, and maintain accurate records of transactions.
  • Adhere to Food Safety and Hygiene Standards: Adhere to food safety and hygiene standards at all times.
  • Assist in Creating a Welcoming Atmosphere: Assist in creating a welcoming and calming atmosphere for café patrons.
Requirements:
  • Experience in Food Service or Retail: Experience in food service, retail, or customer-facing roles is an advantage.
  • Strong Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential for success in this role.
  • Basic Knowledge of Coffee Preparation: Basic knowledge of coffee preparation or willingness to learn is required.
  • Ability to Handle Cash Transactions: Ability to handle cash transactions accurately and efficiently.
