Career Opportunity: Certified Accountant

Carrillion Construction is a leading player in the construction industry, and we are seeking a talented Certified Accountant to join our team. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for managing financial records, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing accurate financial reporting to support the company's growth.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Financial Reporting: We need an expert who can prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. You will generate accurate and timely financial reports for management and stakeholders.
  2. Job Costing: Our ideal candidate will implement and maintain effective job costing systems. You will monitor project budgets and provide variance analysis, as well as track and reconcile construction costs, including materials, labor, and subcontractor expenses.
  3. Compliance and Auditing: To ensure compliance with all applicable accounting standards and regulations, you will prepare for and assist with internal and external audits. Additionally, you will manage tax filings and ensure compliance with tax laws.
  4. Accounts Management: As part of your role, you will oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, manage bank reconciliations, and maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.
  5. Budgeting and Forecasting: Our team needs someone who can assist in developing annual budgets and financial forecasts, monitor budget performance, and provide recommendations for improvement. You will also provide financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.
  6. Real Estate Specific Duties: We require a skilled accountant who can manage accounting for property management activities, track and report on real estate investment performance, and handle accounting for real estate transactions.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent certification
  • Proven experience in accounting, preferably in the construction and/or real estate industry
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP)
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of construction industry-specific accounting software is a plus
  • Experience with project management software
  • Knowledge of real estate financial analysis
  • Understanding of construction contracts and payment terms
