FMCG SEARCH is seeking a dynamic Commercial Director to drive sales growth and expand our commercial activities in Nigeria.

Company Overview

Our client, a leading multinational distributor of chemicals, is expanding its presence in emerging markets. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing the chemical market and growing a portfolio of profitable customers and transactions through strong relationships with trustworthy clients.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to drive sales growth and expand the company's commercial activities in the industry, focusing on forex implications.
  • Provide commercial input into business reviews and potential opportunities.
  • Conduct market and sales analysis to identify potential clients, market trends, and competitor activities.
  • Provide accurate reports on commercial performance, including sales forecasts, market analysis, and revenue projections.
  • Stay updated on industry regulations, trade policies, and compliance requirements related to forex transactions.
  • Monitor and analyze sales performance metrics, preparing reports for management review.
  • Help identify and pursue new business opportunities in target markets.
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements with clients, ensuring favorable terms and conditions.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field; a master's degree is a plus.
  • Vast knowledge of business development strategies.
  • 7+ years' experience in business development, sales, or commercial management.
  • Ability to develop and execute successful commercial/sales strategies, driving revenue growth and market expansion.
  • Understanding of the complexity of a commercial role in Nigeria (such as forex).
  • Able to build relationships and deal with various types of people and cultures.
  • Commercial prospecting and strong negotiation skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships at all levels.
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite and commercial/sales software applications.
