About the Role:

The Junior Geologist will assist in geological research, field investigations, data collection and analysis to support exploration, environmental or engineering projects. They will work under the supervision of senior geologists and contribute to geological mapping, sampling, and reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct geotechnical investigations and site assessments.
  • Oversee QA/QC procedures for geological and geotechnical projects.
  • Supervise the foundation investigation and installation/constructions of projects.
  • Conduct, oversee and supervise on-site and laboratory analysis of soil samples.
  • Carry out Pile Integrity Test (PIT).
  • Carry out structural integrity test – ultrasonic test.
  • Manage safety and health issues on the site.
  • Supervise drillers, casters, iron benders on site.
  • Work with surveyors to get exact points for each pile installation.
  • Decide on equipment and quantity of materials required to execute project.
  • Ensure required equipment and materials get to site.
  • Supervise the test - run all equipment to ensure their effectiveness.
  • Supervise the set-up of equipment's to commence work.
  • Work with the project manager to manage and account for project budget.
  • Manage equipment breakdown on site.
  • Manage all regulatory compliant issues on site.
  • Ensure project is delivered at the highest quality within the lowest possible timeframe.
  • Manage end to end delivery of projects.
  • Produce periodic reports on ongoing and completed projects within the required timeframe.
