Job Summary

The General Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of a team or department within an organisation. They play a vital role in ensuring that tasks are completed efficiently and effectively, in line with company goals and objectives. The General Supervisor provides guidance and support to team members, monitors their performance, and ensures that all targets and deadlines are met.

Job Description/Requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team or department, providing guidance, support, and mentoring to ensure optimal performance and productivity.
  • Develop and implement strategies, policies, and procedures to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Monitor team performance, ensuring that tasks are completed accurately and in accordance with company standards.
  • Identify areas for improvement and develop action plans to address any issues or concerns.
  • Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to coordinate and streamline operations.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback, coaching, and training as needed.
  • Resolve conflicts and address employee concerns or grievances in a timely and professional manner.
  • Monitor and control department budgets, ensuring that expenses are within approved limits.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements to ensure compliance and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive work environment that encourages teamwork, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Requirements:

  • Proficient in using various computer software and applications for data analysis, reporting, and team collaboration.
  • Knowledge of relevant industry regulations, standards, and best practices.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business Administration, Management) or equivalent work experience.
  • 2-4 years of proven experience in a supervisory or managerial role, preferably in a similar industry or department.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a team, with a track record of achieving results.
  • Sound knowledge of operational processes and procedures.
  • Familiarity with performance management techniques and methodologies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Proficient in using computer software and applications relevant to the role.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritise effectively
