Profile

• The Head of Treasury & Wealth Management will be responsible for overseeing the organization's liquidity, funding strategy, financial risk management, and capital structure. The role ensures the company maintains adequate liquidity, complies with regulatory requirements, optimizes financial resources, and manages treasury operations effectively. The Treasurer will provide strategic financial insights to support business growth and institutional stability.
• Minimum of 10 years' experience in treasury management, with at least 4 years in a supervisory/leadership role in a financial service or asset management firm.
• Strong understanding of balance sheet management techniques.
• Knowledge of various financial instruments & treasury products.
• Experience with the management of a Treasury/Investment Sales force.

Qualifications

• A minimum of a second-class lower degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or any other numerate discipline from acceptable universities in the country wherein the degree was obtained (Master's degree is an advantage).
• Professional qualifications such as ACA, ACCA, or CFA are highly desirable
• Excellent presentation, and negotiation skills

Job Description

1. Liquidity & Cash Management

• Monitor and manage daily liquidity positions to ensure adequate funding for operational and regulatory needs.
• Develop and maintain cash flow forecasts and reporting frameworks.
• Optimize cash utilization across accounts and business units.

2. Funding & Capital Management

• Lead the development and execution of funding strategies to support lending, investment, and expansion initiatives.
• Manage relationships with banks, lenders, investors, and financing partners.
• Oversee issuance and management of debt instruments and credit facilities.
• Support capital planning to ensure regulatory compliance and optimal capital structure.

3. Asset Liability Management (ALM)

• Monitor interest rate, funding, and liquidity gaps on the balance sheet.
• Implement ALM strategies in collaboration with Risk Management.
• Recommend actions to mitigate interest rate and liquidity risks.

4. Financial Risk Management

• Identify and manage financial risks including interest rate, FX, and liquidity risks.
• Establish and enforce treasury risk limits and controls.

5. Investment Management

• Manage investment of surplus funds in line with risk appetite, regulatory guidelines, and return objectives.
• Conduct market analysis to optimize returns on treasury investments.
• Maintain investment portfolios within approved limits.

6. Treasury Operations & Controls

• Oversee treasury operations including settlements, payments, and cash positioning.
• Ensure effective internal controls and compliance across treasury processes.
• Maintain and enhance treasury management systems and tools.

7. Regulatory Compliance

• Ensure compliance with CBN regulations, Basel liquidity standards, and other relevant frameworks.
• Prepare and submit treasury-related regulatory and internal reports.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulatory changes and their implications.

8. Strategic Financial Support

• Provide treasury insights to support corporate strategy, budgeting, and long-term planning.
• Advise management on macroeconomic trends and financial risk implications.

9. Governance & Reporting

• Prepare periodic reports for executive management, Board Committees, and auditors.
• Develop and update treasury policies, procedures, and guidelines.
• Lead treasury audits and ensure adherence to governance frameworks.
