Engineering Construction Manager

Location: Lagos, Nigeria

We are seeking a highly skilled Engineering Construction Manager to lead and execute all engineering and construction operations across Afrihood projects. The ideal candidate is a technically proficient, hands-on professional with strong leadership, problem-solving, and design expertise — driven by a passion for innovation, excellence, and impact.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage all engineering and construction activities across Afrihood projects from concept to completion.

Plan, design, and oversee the construction of building structures in line with construction and government standards using modern design software and drawing tools.

Analyze survey reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, and topographical or geologic data to plan and design project layouts.

Conduct site inspections to monitor progress and ensure strict compliance with design specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations.

Take direct responsibility for all on-site construction operations, structural maintenance, and building performance.

Carry out surveying tasks to lay out installations, establish reference points, grades, and elevations to guide construction accuracy.

Develop and manage detailed work programs, cost estimates, and material requirements to enhance project feasibility and profitability.

Perform technical and feasibility studies, including soil and material testing, to determine the strength and adequacy of foundations, concrete, asphalt, or steel.

Provide expert technical advice on design, construction processes, modifications, and structural repairs to project teams and management.

Conduct engineering studies on environmental and traffic conditions to assess project impact and sustainability.

Liaise effectively with clients, architects, consultants, and subcontractors to ensure design coherence and operational efficiency.

Resolve design, development, and construction-related challenges with innovative, practical solutions.

Ensure full compliance with all legal, environmental, and health & safety requirements across projects.

Evaluate and improve the sustainability and environmental impact of each development.

Oversee procurement and ensure that construction resources are effectively allocated and utilized.

Monitor budgets, timelines, and quality standards to ensure all projects are delivered efficiently, within budget, and on schedule.

Prepare and present comprehensive progress, performance, and financial reports to senior management.

Mentor and lead site engineers, supervisors, and contractors to achieve organizational and project goals.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (Master's preferred).

Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in construction or engineering management.

Demonstrated success in delivering residential, commercial, or mixed-use real estate projects.

Strong command of engineering design software (AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D, etc.) and project management tools (MS Project, Primavera).

Excellent understanding of construction methods, materials, environmental standards, and project cost control.

COREN registration is highly preferred.

Strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills.

Proven ability to drive quality, safety, and sustainability across multiple projects.
