Job Purpose: The control officer will be responsible for providing a way of monitoring and measuring an organization's resources. The control officer will also be responsible for increasing the operational efficiency of organizations, detecting and eliminating fraud and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations

Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities

  • To plan, organize and carry out the internal controls function including the preparation of an audit manual and audit plan
  • Conduct risk assessment of all departments
  • Reports risk management issues and internal controls deficiencies identified directly to the CFO and Company Board and provide recommendations for improving the organization's operations.
  • Identifying and proposing modifications as needed
  • Identify areas of strengths and weaknesses and engage in continuous education and staff development on best practices
  • Review the responses to internal and external audit management letter queries to ensure that recommendations are implemented and ensure that all action items are resolved
  • Evaluate information security and associated risk exposures
  • Evaluate regulatory compliance program
  • Evaluate the organization's readiness in case of business interruption
  • Provides support to the company's anti-fraud programs.
  • Devise measures to reduce/eliminate wastage of resources
  • Tracking of stock request from Stores to Production location
  • Daily sales data processing/analysis.
  • Bundling/Unbundling (Manufacturing) of Finished goods .
  • Daily Production data capture (Raw Material utilization)
  • Monthly inventory in Production locations.
  • Monthly Production report.
  • Monthly sales report/Analysis.
  • Daily posting of material waste
  • Shortage/Overage variance analysis
  • Knowledge of Orion ERP software
  • All other duties as reasonably requested

Reporting

  • Deliver Monthly Compliance Reports
  • Deliver Monthly Risk Management and Control Reports

Education and Experience

  • B.Sc or HND in Accounting/Business Management
  • ICAN or ACCA qualified (an added advantage)
  • Sound knowledge of Bookkeeping, Financial Reporting, Accounting, Treasury, Reporting and Financial modelling
  • Minimum of three (3) years relevant experience in similar position
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office and other ERP.

  • Ensuring the transparency of strategy, stock management processes and maintaining the controlling systems
  • Moderating and designing the management process of efficient utilization of resources
  • Developing and maintaining the controlling systems.
