Job Summary:

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Finance Manager who will oversees the financial operations of the company, ensuring proper financial planning, accurate reporting, strong internal controls, and compliance with regulatory standards. The role will supports management with strategic financial insights to drive business growth and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities:1. Financial Reporting & Compliance

  • Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with applicable accounting standards (IFRS/GAAP).
  • Maintain the general ledger and ensure integrity of financial data.
  • Coordinate and manage internal and external audits.
  • Ensure compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements (FIRS, local tax laws, etc.).

2. Financial Modelling & Strategic Analysis

  • Develop and maintain complex financial models for scenario analysis, business forecasting, and investment decisions.
  • Conduct variance analysis between actual and forecasted results.
  • Provide strategic insights to management based on financial performance and market trends.

3. Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Lead the annual budgeting process and rolling forecasts.
  • Work with departmental heads to develop and monitor budgets.
  • Monitor budgetary performance and recommend cost control initiatives.

4. Tax Management & Compliance

  • Prepare and file all tax returns (VAT, WHT, CIT, PAYE) timely and accurately.
  • Ensure timely remittance of all tax obligations and maintain documentation for tax audits.
  • Liaise with tax consultants and authorities to manage assessments and resolve disputes.

5. Accounts Payable & Receivable

  • Oversee the end-to-end accounts payable and receivable processes.
  • Reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies.
  • Ensure timely payment of invoices and proper credit control procedures.

6. Strategic Financial Support

  • Provide financial input in business planning, pricing strategy, and operational decisions.
  • Evaluate the financial viability of new projects and investments.
  • Support fundraising or investor relations activities with financial data and reporting.

7. Leadership & Team Management

  • Supervise and mentor the accounting/finance team.
  • Review and approve journal entries, reports, and reconciliations.
  • Support cross-functional teams with financial guidance.

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Professional certification such as ACA, ACCA, or CPA is a plus.
  • Proven experience with financial modeling and forecasting tools (Excel, Power BI, etc.).
  • In-depth knowledge of financial regulations, tax laws, and accounting principles.
  • Proficient in accounting software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks, SAP, or similar ERP).
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines.
