About the role: We are seeking a highly skilled Database Specialist with expertise in MS SQL and PostgreSQL Administration to support the design, development, and maintenance of our core banking application. The ideal candidate will ensure database reliability, scalability, and performance while adhering to industry standards and best practices. Key Responsibilities: 1. Database Administration: • Install, configure, and maintain MS SQL Server and PostgreSQL databases. • Perform routine database monitoring, tuning, and troubleshooting to ensure optimal performance. • Manage database backups, recovery strategies, and disaster recovery plans. 2. Database Design and Development: • Collaborate with application developers to design and implement database schemas, queries, and stored procedures optimized for performance and security. • Ensure data integrity and quality through the implementation of best practices in database design and management. 3. Security and Compliance: • Implement database security measures, including user access control, encryption, and compliance with regulatory requirements. • Conduct regular security audits to identify and mitigate potential vulnerabilities. 4. Performance Optimization: • Monitor database performance metrics and optimize queries, indexing, and storage for high availability and scalability. •Identify and resolve database bottlenecks affecting application performance. 5. Collaboration and Support: • Work closely with the development and DevOps teams to ensure smooth integration of database solutions. • Provide database support for development, testing, and production environments. • Troubleshoot and resolve database -related issues promptly. 6. Documentation and Reporting: • Maintain comprehensive documentation of database configurations, policies, and procedures. • Generate regular performance reports and suggest improvements based on data analysis.  Requirements1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. 2. Proven experience in MS SQL Server and PostgreSQL Administration (3+ years preferred). 3. Strong knowledge of database design, optimization, and troubleshooting techniques. 4. Experience with backup and disaster recovery solutions. 5. Familiarity with high -availability and replication configurations in MS SQL and PostgreSQL. 6. Hands -on experience with database monitoring tools and technologies. 7. Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python) for automation. 8. Understanding of core banking application requirements and financial data handling is a plus.
