About the Role

Our client is seeking a passionate and experienced Academy Director / Program Lead to oversee school-based workshops in underserved communities and to lead our Academy's flagship campaign advocating for the dignity, identity, and rights of African girls—specifically ending the cutting of African girls' hair in schools.

This role combines strategic leadership, program management, community engagement, and advocacy. The ideal candidate is mission-driven, organized, and confident working with schools, communities, and partners to drive sustainable impact.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage the Academy's school workshops across underserved communities.

Design, implement, and scale programs aligned with the Academy's mission and values.

Drive the Academy's core campaign to end discriminatory hair-cutting practices in schools.

Build and maintain strong relationships with school administrators, community leaders, parents, and partners.

Oversee program planning, timelines, budgets, and reporting.

Train, supervise, and support facilitators, volunteers, and program staff.

Monitor program impact, collect data, and prepare reports for internal and external stakeholders.

Represent the Academy at events, meetings, and advocacy forums.

Ensure safeguarding, inclusivity, and cultural sensitivity across all programs.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Education, Social Sciences, Development Studies, Public Policy, or a related field.

Proven experience in program management, education, advocacy, or nonprofit leadership.

Strong understanding of community-based work and gender-focused advocacy.

Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.

Ability to lead campaigns and influence policy or institutional practices.

Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.

Passion for social impact, girls' rights, and educational equity.

Willingness to travel within Lagos and surrounding communities as needed.
